2. Overview
This is a private portfolio website. It does not use cookies, analytics or tracking tools, advertising or social media plugins, and it does not load any content (such as fonts or scripts) from external servers. Personal data is only processed to the extent described below.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by GitHub Pages, a service of GitHub, Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. When you visit the website, GitHub automatically collects and stores information in server log files that your browser transmits, in particular your IP address, the date and time of the request, the page requested, the referrer URL, and the browser and operating system used.
This processing is necessary to deliver the website securely and reliably. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is the technically error-free and secure provision of this website. GitHub may process this data in the USA. The transfer is based on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which GitHub, Inc. is certified, and additionally on standard contractual clauses (Art. 46 (2) (c) GDPR). Further information can be found in the GitHub Privacy Statement: docs.github.com/en/site-policy/privacy-policies.
4. Storage in your browser
This website does not set cookies. It uses your browser’s local storage for two functions only:
- If you use the “Change Design” button on the start page, the chosen design is saved in your browser (localStorage) so that it is shown again on your next visit.
- When you move between pages, the colours and title of the previous page are kept for a moment (sessionStorage) to animate the transition. This entry is deleted as soon as the next page has loaded.
This information stays on your device and is not transmitted to me or to third parties. It is stored solely to provide functions that you use (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete it at any time in your browser settings.
5. Contact by e-mail or phone
If you contact me by e-mail or phone, I process the data you provide (e.g. name, e-mail address, phone number and the content of your message) in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your enquiry relates to a possible collaboration or employment, and Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR otherwise; my legitimate interest is responding to your enquiry. I delete the data once your enquiry has been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
6. Links to other websites
This website contains a plain link to LinkedIn. No data is transmitted to LinkedIn when you visit this website. Only when you click this link and open LinkedIn do its own privacy policies apply.
7. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR),
- have incorrect data rectified (Art. 16 GDPR),
- have your data erased (Art. 17 GDPR),
- restrict processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR),
- object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR).
To exercise these rights, simply contact me at the address above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is: Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz und für das Recht auf Akteneinsicht Brandenburg, Stahnsdorfer Damm 77, 14532 Kleinmachnow, Germany.
